Reflection of Academic Experience: Text

MY SUCCESS, FAILURES, AND HOW I GREW FROM THEM

SUCCESS

  • Was able to keep the team engaged with Workfront after presenting them with features that solve their most critical pain points

FAILURES

  • Presenting an Idea to Sam's Club stakeholders based on my perceived notion of what seemed the most "innovative" instead of determining what they were really looking for

  • Subpar presentation skills, which made it harder to communicate how potential solutions work for my teams/stakeholders

  • Impatience with my own work pace leads me to become more frustrated with myself leading to procrastination and therefore, lower work quality

HOW I GREW FROM THEM

  • Learned how to keep the stakeholder front and center in a project process with learnings about change management reinforcing those concepts

  • Learned to talk slower while also listening more attentively in order to match the tone and theme of what the speaker is saying to maintain a more agile communication approach

  • Plan out my schedule with fewer large tasks per day to account for my process in an honest way to reduce frustrations
